Last Last Chance

Written by Timothy Langford

Well you’re in another pickle, down to your last nickel, and you want another handout again

But we’ve been there before, and it’ll happen some more, if I don’t tell you this is the end

That was your last last chance, that was your last last chance

That was your last last chance, tired of doin’ dat dance, and I ain’t  gonna take it no more

Well I said it before, last time you walked out that door, but this time you pushed me to far

And I won’t care a bit, when you throw your next fit, cause this time I mean it for sure

That was your last last chance,  that was your last last chance

That was your last last chance, tired of doin’ dat dance, and I ain’t  gonna take it no more

Well you tell everybody, you’re so mistreated, and everyone is doing you wrong

Why don’t you take another look, at yourself in the mirror, you just might want to change your song

That was your last last chance, that was your last last chance

That was your last last chance, tired of doin’ dat dance, and I ain’t  gonna take it no more

Well I said it before, last time you walked out the door, but this time you pushed me to far

And I won’t care a bit, when you throw your next fit, cause this time I mean it for sure

That was your last last chance, that was your last last chance

That was your last last chance, tired of doin’ dat dance, and I ain’t gonna take it no more

Repeat

That was your last last chance, that was your last last chance,

Devil's Hostage

Written by Timothy Langford

When I was a young man, god said I give this gift to you

But you must use it wisely, to this path you must stay true

The Devil will try to trick you, and try to make you slip

Looking for a shortcut, I made my first mistake

Chorus

I should have seen it coming, but I was just a fool

I sold my soul, my wife and family’s too

Now I’m the devils hostage, he wants ransom for my sins,

God please help me with the, the mess I’m in

Verse

I should have listened better, I know that I was warned

The good lord tried to tell me, to keep my heart from harm

But the devil he done fooled me, I was so easily deceived

I had sold my soul, and I fell down on my knees

Chorus

Solo

Verse

Then I heard a voice, whisper in my ear

All is not lost son, I know all the Devils Tricks

The key to your salvation, is right there in your heart

You must forgive yourself, that is where you start

Chorus

Solo

Reckless

Written by Zach Kasik

Verse 1

Oh momma where did I go wrong

My reckless heart is comin’ undone

So roll the tape, take it line by line

And I’ll lay it on you one take at a time

I bet it all on black and I bet wrong

Down at rock bottom where I belong

Chorus

Reckless

I’m Reckless

Down at rock bottom where I belong

Verse 2

Another hard lesson on a jailhouse floor

Cut me loose, I went back for more

Can’t say they didn’t warn me

I only learned when I had to bleed

Red line, Stop sight, blue suede shoes

Cocaine freight train light my fuse

Chours

Verse 3

Oh papa I gotta thank you

For raisin me up on the rhythm and blues

If you told me once you told me twice

Sometimes you loose when you roll the dice

Kiss the sky on the big highway

We gotta keep the party rollin’

We gotta keep the party rollin’, all night long

Sunnyland Train

Seem like I heard, the lonesome Sunnyland blow

Seem like I heard, the lonesome Sunnyland blow

Well she blow’d just like, she won’t come back no more

Feel bad this mornin’ feel just like I wanna cry

Feel bad this mornin’ feel just like I wanna cry

Well my baby caught the train, never even said goodbye

Got a letter from my baby, said she was comin’ home

Got a letter from my baby, said she was comin’ home

Well I sit here waitin’, I hope she won’t be long

Seem like I heard, the lonesome Sunnyland blow

Seem like I heard, the lonesome Sunnyland blow

Well she blow’d just like, she won’t come back no more

Sure Shot

Written By Zach Kasik

Devil gonna take my sure shot

Devil gonna reap my soul

Devil gonna take my sure shot

If I don’t let you go

Devil gonna look just like an angel

Devil gonna wear my ring

Devil gonna be my biggest fan

In the heart of every song I sing

Devil gonna take my money

Devil gonna make me look old

Devil gonna feed me drugs in the morning

Devil’s comin after my soul

Rhythm gonna take me out sideways

Rhythm gonna take me down low

Rhythm gonna take me anywhere

Rhythm don’t let me go

The Devil gonna take my sure shot

Devil gonna reap my soul

Devil gonna take my sure shot

If I don’t let you go

Platinum Junkie

Written By Zach Kasik, Michael Sherry

Lyrics By Zach Kasik

Verse 1:

Two young brothers run wild in the streets

Livin’ in LA dreams while momma’s losing sleep

When the cobra comes callin’ with the rhythm and booze

All American dreams become born to lose

Pale white hands on the razor blade

Through the smoke and mirrors the platinum junkie is made

Chorus

There’s a pusher taking life after life

down on the corner by the liquor store

Like a rat, breeding disease

Bleeding out on the ghetto floor

The first time you did it, it was just for fun

But the second time it didn’t feel quite as strong

So you loaded up your pistol for one more fix

Playing Russian roulette but you load all six

Verse 2:

The preacher finds the pusher with a war to wage

As the two young brothers take the stage

One grips the mic and one bends the strings

While they close their eyes and replay the scenes

As the spotlight shines on the Viper Room stage

Through the smoke and mirrors the platinum junkie is made

Chorus

Now a wildfire burns in those hungry eyes

From the passionate thrill of a brand new high

It’s ecstasy and the touch of skin

Just a poison kiss on the lips of sin

Reality and stage lines fade

Through the smoke and mirrors the platinum junkie is made

Chorus

Verse 3:

Gold and platinum records line the wall

As the oldest brother walks down the hall

Preacher nails at the foot of the bed

Mama cries and daddy hangs his head

Their broken hearts are filled with rage

As they cling to the hand of son they raised

As God and the devil stand face to face

Through the smoke and mirrors the platinum junkie’s erased

Snake Eyes

Written By Zach Kasik, Jack Rusch

Lyrics By Zach Kasik

Verse1

You played the hand

I thought you’d never play

Now you wear the brand

Of the words I thought you’d never say

All the lies I find before me

Burn me up with rage

As line by line I read my story

With no mention of my name

So damn the trust I gave to you

And damn that fault of mine

Misuse of my trust sure as hell ain’t no fault of mine

Chorus:

I’ve been tempted by your money

And tempted by your wine

Tempted with your women

This time I believe I’ll walk away with my pride

Verse 2:

Well I rolled the dice

And I paid the price

Cuz everybody knows

Snake eyes never lie

So damn the trust that I gave to you

You know it happens every time

Misuse of my trust sure as hell ain’t no fault of mine

Chorus

Solo

Chorus

Vamp:

And damn the lies

Damn the lies

Tempted by your money

And tempted with your wine

Tempted with your women

Think About That

Written By Timothy Langford

How we supposed keep our cool when everything is so crazy

Wake up in the morning just to eat another spoonful of dirt

Everyday it’s like the Truman show, people don’t know what to believe anymore

Speaking my mind, for what it’s worth

Chorus

Preaching to the haters to keep it segregated

Doing your best to keep us separated

Somebody please, can you tell me, what you think about that

Acting like a bully because you think your so high class

Got all your gangsta friends, watching your back

Taking all you can while you got the power, staring down from your ivory tower

Makin it up as you go and that’s a natural fact

Chorus

Drain the swamp, but it keeps getting bigger

The smell surrounds, and we’re all getting sicker

All the lies you believe them yourself, I’m telling you man it’s all going to hell

Brown noser’s slapping your back, while your talking your smack

Chorus

What you think about that

What you think about that

Half A World Away

Written By Timothy Langford

Here I am stuck in this lonely motel room

Thinking bout, all the things I’d say to you

I wanna pick up the phone, and call you but you’d be sleeping now

And I’d hold you in my arms but your half a world away

Don’t want to seem like a lovesick fool but I am right now

There’s a look in your eye that washes all my troubles away

You’re the kind of woman that lights up the room with just one smile

And I‘d hold you in my arms but your half a world away

Bridge:

Some say love at first sight is just a fantasy

But the first time I saw you I know it was true

Somehow someway I was gonna make you mine

And I can feel you in my heart but right now I’m so blue

I think about all the good times and I have to smile

And we’re gonna have a whole lot more if can have my way

We made it through a million miles of life’s disarray

And I’d kiss your sweet lips but your half a world away

One Step at a Time

Written by Timothy Langford

When this mean ol’ world starts bringing you down

And you’re climbing that mountain one step at a time

Believe in yourself never give up

Keep on marching until you make it to the top

Life is a balance of pleasure and pain

Love and loss and wisdom gained

Keep on doing the best that you can

It don’t matter if you’re a woman or a man

Everybody’s bound get the blues sometimes

We’ll climb that mountain one step at a time

Well I’m feeling down and I wanna to give up

The mountain I’m climbing seems to have no top

I’m givin’ all I got but it’s never enough

My back’s to the wall and I’m still out of luck

Life is a balance of pleasure and pain

Love and loss and wisdom gained

Keep on doing the best that you can

It don’t matter if you’re a woman or a man

Everybody’s bound get the blues sometimes

We’ll climb that mountain one step at a time

But this mean ol’ world ain’t gonna bring me down

And I climbed that mountain one step at a time

I believed in my self and I never gave up

You can’t knock me down I made it to the top

Life is a balance of pleasure and pain

Love and loss and wisdom gained

Keep on doing the best that you can

It don’t matter if you’re a woman or a man

Everybody’s bound get the blues sometimes

We’ll climb that mountain one step at a time

Trouble

Written by Timothy Langford

Trouble, trouble is my shadow, worries tailing me

Go away trouble leave me alone

Don’t come knockin on my door

I’ve paid my dues, you got no debts with me

No debts with me

When good luck, good luck comes my way

The dirty ol’ devil tries to steal it all away

You can’t steal my luck you see

Better times gonna rain down on me

A fortune teller told me but it sure been a long time coming

Been a long time coming

Trouble, trouble is my shadow, worries tailing me

Go away trouble leave me alone

Don’t come knockin’ on my door

I’ve paid my dues, you got no debts with me

No debts with me

Stories To Tell

Written by Timothy Langford

I’m giving up, trying to talk to you

When I start talking you just drift away

Is it me, is it you, is this just what people do now

I wanna know, I wanna know

I got stories to tell, stories that would blow your mind

I got stories to tell, if you’d just take the time, just take the time

To listen to me, listen to me

I talk, then you talk

When I start talking you just run at the mouth

Is it you, is it me, is it just our society

I want to know, I want to know

Repeat Chorus

Deal me in ,but don’t you count me out

I got stories to tell till the lights go out

Is it me, is it you, is this just what people do now

I wanna know, I wanna know

Repeat Chorus

Broken White Line

Written by Zach Kasik

One hit for pleasure, two hits for pain
I load the pistol, spin the wheel and let it ring
And I dive deep, to the bottom of a wishing well, wish me well
Momma warned me about a broken white line
But I cleared the bible from the table and dropped the dime
As I dive deep, and I don’t tell

Chorus:
And it’s straight to the bottom
That’s no lie, every dream dies
At the end, of a broken white line

It’s written in pages, that I’ve read
Them echoes ringing, all through my head
As I dive deep, and I don’t tell
With every wrong turn and every lie told
Everyone knows I won’t grow old
As I dive deep and I don’t tell

Repeat Chorus:

Solo

Repeat Chorus:

One hit for pleasure, two hits for pain
I load the pistol, spin the wheel and let it ring
As I dive deep, and I don’t tell

Repeat Chorus:

A Little More True

Written By Zach Kasik

There’s a long stretch of highway

Calling my name as I roll on
There’s a fire inside me
Burning brighter as I roll on
There’s a piece of heaven waiting
Waiting for me as I roll on
My faith will guide me through the wicked wind and I’ll roll on

Let me tell you that I know
That I’m going to pay
Oh Lord for every heart I break
Like a rolling stone Momma
I’ll be coming back for you
A little more the wiser
And a little more true

As the tables turned, the bridges burned and I rolled on
And time and time again I fell for a line of sin but I rolled on
My darkest night turned to light as I rolled on
And I took the hand of a righteous man and I held on

What You Said

Written by Timothy Langford

Well I know you didn’t mean what you said

But I can’t get it out of my head

I know, you didn’t mean what you said

You didn’t throw sticks and stones

But the words have a pain of their own

Like a bullet, like a bullet hitting the bone

Too much on your plate

Might have been my mistake, I don’t know

I know that your heart aches

The pain turns into rage, I know, you didn’t mean what you said

Well I wish that I could ease your mind

But I feel like I’m losing time

Like the last grains, of sand, slipping through an hourglass

I know you didn’t mean what you said

But I can’t get it out of my head

I know, you didn’t mean what you said

This really ain’t about us

Just a bunch of other people’s stuff, messing with our heads

It blows in like a storm

Dumps the rain and leaves you cold, like a hurricane

You didn’t throw sticks and stones

But the words have a pain of their own

Like a bullet, like a bullet, hitting the bone

I know you didn’t mean what you said

But I can’t get it out of my head

I know, you didn’t mean what you said,

I know, you didn’t mean what you said

I know, you didn’t mean what you said

I know, you didn’t mean what you said

Run Away

Written by Timothy Langford

Tired of left holding the bag while everybody has their way

Just wanna run away and start living again

We’ve given everything we got

But you keep sucking on that straw

You still haven’t noticed there’s nothing left to drink

We can run away, we don’t have to stay

We just walk away we can leave right now

We can run away, we don’t have to play

Your stupid game, we can leave this town right now

Ain’t gonna stay and watch you bottom out on your high horse

It’s not that we don’t care maybe we care too much

Time to make it on your own

So I guess we should leave you alone

Before we run out of time and or lose our minds

We can run away, we don’t have to stay

We just walk away we can leave right now

We can run away, we don’t have to play

Your stupid game, we can leave this town right now

Lay Down Your Gun

Written By Zach Kasik

Walk away momma
Lay down your gun
Come and ride away with me
Into the settin’ sun

Hard times and
Hard lines and
I come to take it all away
No cheatin’
or miss treatin’
I’m the man of your midnight dreams yeah
.357 for a side arm baby
For anyone that’s in our way
Come lay it down with the real man baby
I testify there’s a better way

Come and walk the line now momma
Walk by my side
And when you lay with me
You feel the rhythm of your heartbeat fly

Time Has Come Today

The time has come today
Young hearts can go their way
I can’t put it off for another day
I don’t care what other people say
They don’t think we listen anyway
The time is come today

The rules have changed today
I have no place to stay
I’m thinking about the subway
My love has flown away
My tears have come and gone
Oh my God I have to roam
I have no home
I have no home

Now the time has come
I have no place to run
I Might get burned up by the sun
But I’ve had my fun
I’ve been loved and put aside
I’ve been crushed by the tumbling tied
My soul has been psychedelicized

Evil Mind

Written by Timothy Langford

You don’t care who you take down

You got an evil mind

It might be your best friend

You got an evil mind

You smile in their face

While your planning their disgrace

Waiting for your chance

To kick em while they’re down

You got an evil mind

Take a look behind you at the damage you have done

You got an evil mind

All your lies you justify

You got an evil mind

Preaching like you’re sanctified

You got an evil mind

You smile in their face

While your planning their disgrace

Looking for your chance

To kick em while they’re down

You got an evil mind

Take a look behind you at the damage you have done

You got an evil mind

You just love to watch em bleed

You got an evil mind

After you take what you need

You got an evil mind

Well you smile in their face

While your planning their disgrace

Waiting for your chance

To kick em while they’re down

You got an evil mind

Take a look behind you at the damage you have done

Take a look behind you at the damage you have done

Blood Moon

Written by Timothy Langford

There’s a blood moon rising

And it’s burning fire red

There’s a blood moon rising

And it’s burning fire red

There’s a blood moon rising

Now your light is gonna shine

You’ve been waiting such a long time

For these bad times to pass

Leave it all behind you

Don’t you ever look back

There’s a blood moon rising

Now your light is gonna shine

There a blood Moon rising

And it’s burnin fire red

Bad times behind you

Don’t you ever look back

There’s a blood moon’s rising

Now your light is gonna shine

There’s a blood moon rising

Now your light is gonna shine

Twisted Rails

Written by Timothy Langford and Jeff Fowlkes

Keep on trying to reel it in

Reelin’s something far from here

Self doubt don’t lose the trail

Ain’t gonna let life past me by

Miles of calculations

Trials and tribulations

But never giving up the fight

Chorus

Trying to ride these twisted rails

Holding on with love and faith

To dreams that I have yet to live

Chips of paint have seen it all

Twisted rails and morning fog

Making it work the best I can

Cellar music raging in the van

Miles of calculations

Trials and tribulations

But never giving up the fight

Repeat Chorus

This ain’t just a young man’s game

Years of wisdom running through my brain

Songs of life playing in my head

Might get lucky before I’m dead

Miles of calculations

Trials and tribulations

But never giving up the fight

Repeat Chorus 2 times

Gypsy

Written by Timothy Langford

When I met the Gypsy she looked me in the eye

Come with me she said with a smile

My heart screamed she’s the one

My body froze and I knew I couldn’t run

I fell for the gypsy

She took my breath away

I fell for the gypsy

My life would change that day

I fell for the gypsy

It wasn’t hard to tell that the gypsy had me in her spell

Her eyes blazed with color and light

She had aura that shined so bright

A kind of beauty I’d never seen

Somehow I new she that she would rescue me

I fell for the gypsy

She took my breath away

I fell for the gypsy

My life would change that day

I fell for the gypsy

It wasn’t hard to tell that the gypsy had me in her spell

She took me to a place I’d never been

She filled me up with cocaine and gin

Once I was there I knew I’d never leave

The gypsy cast her spell on me

I fell for the gypsy

She took my breath away

I fell for the gypsy

My life would change that day

I fell for the gypsy

It wasn’t hard to tell that the gypsy had me in her spell

Wash My Hands

Written by Timothy Langford

Well I used to be a sinner and I liked it

Yes I used to be a sinner and I liked it

Never wanted to hurt nobody

Didn’t worry about heaven or hell

I’d get my kicks and move along

So I washed my hands in the muddy Mississippi

But this life of sin don’t wash off easy

Doing my best to try and come clean

But that dirty old devil left a stain on me

Women and whiskey and bad cocaine

Women and whiskey and bad cocaine

Pity the fool who got in my way

I’d find a way to make them pay

More was always better I had to have it all

Blue Heart

Written by Timothy Langford

She trusts me with her big blue heart

Cause she knows I won’t break it apart

Her heart’s made of glass and I know her past

And she tells me that she feels like her heart, is safe at last

She’s trusting me with her big blue heart

She’s trusting me with her big blue heart

I feeling shaky, a little unsure

If I got what it takes to keep her heart secure

Because I’ve been a fool, I’ve been a fool before

But she believes me when I say I’ll never walk out that door

She’s trusting me with her big blue heart

She’s trusting me with her big blue heart

Well I know, why her heart is so blue

And she told me that’s the reason that I gave my heart to you

You know my heart is glass, and you know my past

And it’s good to know to know my blue heart of glass is safe at last

She’s trusting me with her big blue heart

She’s trusting me with her big blue heart

Minutes Seem Like Hours

Written by Timothy Langford

Everyday is the same and the nights seem so long

Thought I knew about lonesome but man I was so wrong

The sky is cryin’ since you went away

Minutes seem like hours, hours seem like days

Everywhere I look something reminds me of you

I can’t hold back the tears and I feel like a fool

I try to not to think about you but I can’t keep the thought of you away

This emptiness just follows me through the day

You’ve told when I’m gone that your heart bleeds like rain

Now the tables have been turned and I know I know your pain

Well my heart can’t stand this lonesome when your away

Minutes seem like hours, hours seem like days

Clouds fill my head I can’t even think

This misery and heartbreak could drive a sober man to drink

I feel like I’m dyin’ when your away

Minutes seem like hours hours seem like days

When Whiskey Was My Friend

Written by Timothy Langford

If I had some whiskey, I’d drink it all
No one to talk to except these dogs
I try to tell them about these blues
They staring at me like I’m a fool
Longing for my woman she’s gone so long
Longing for my woman she’s gone so long
It used to be so easy when whiskey was my friend
It used to be so easy when whiskey was my friend

She will come back I think she will
That’s what she told me maybe I’m waiting still
Feels like a prison inside these walls
If I had a bottle I’d drink it all
Longing for my woman she’s gone so long
Longing for my woman she’s gone so long
It used to be so easy when whiskey was my friend
It used to be so easy when whiskey was my friend

If I had some Whiskey, I’d drink it all
No one to talk to except these dogs
I try to tell them about these Blues
They staring at me like I’m a fool
Longing for my woman she’s gone so long
Longing for my woman she’s gone so long
Longing for my woman she’s gone so long
It used to be so easy when whiskey was my friend
It used to be so easy when whiskey was my friend

Good To See You Smile Again

Written by Timothy Langford

It’s been a dark road

For a whole lot of years

But your light keeps shining

Even through the tears

All I know is

It’s good to see you smiling again

Too many loses

For one person to bear

But you’re a fighter

And girl I knew you’d win

All I know is

It’s good to see you smile again

I hope you know

You’re not alone

Love surrounds you

Let it pour into your heart

You think your crazy

And I do too

But don’t you know

That weirdos rule the world

All I know is

It’s good to see you smile again

Make It Sound Happy

Written by Timothy Langford

I hate to tell you honey but there’s more bad news

The fox is in the henhouse and the cows are all loose

Seems like everyday things are just starting this way

And the doctor just called says he wants to get paid

Momma said I need a little cheering up

Play me that song that I like so much

But make it sound happy so I can lose these blues

Yeah make it sound happy and I’ll roll with you

Sometimes life just gets in the way

Why can’t the sun just shine everyday

Everybody needs someone they can lean on sometimes

Everyday I have thank the lord that I got you

Chorus

Solo

Well that old man Dickson, didn’t do what he said

And it looks like things are gonna come to a head

Both sides are lawyerin’ up best go get the shotgun out

Who needs a bunch of dumbass lawyer’s not me!

Repeat Chorus

If You Broke My Heart

Written by Timothy Langford

I got no words for this feeling

Is this the beginning or the end

This empty heart too much to bear

Nothing is the same when your not there

Why does love feel like pain

Nothing but obsession running through my brain

Don’t want feel I want to be numb

Couldn’t stand the pain if you broke my heart

When you fall, fall in love

Cupid shots an arrow through your heart

We carve the letters on a tree

Forever it will be just you and me

The knife cuts deep and the arrow is the pain

That’s what I feel when you are away

Don’t want to feel I want to be numb

Couldn’t stand the pain if you broke my heart

If I could live my fantasy

All your love would only be for me

We never stray and pinky swear

I know your passion rules when I’m not there

Cupid’s arrow is here to stay

Love is just pain when you’re away

Don’t want to feel I want to be numb

Couldn’t stand the pain if you broke my heart

New Years Blues

Written by Timothy Langford

Man come knockin’ on my door

Brother can you help me I’m hungry and I’m cold

I ask myself what should I do

What does this man really want from you

Fear and suspicion is what I feel

Why has this man come to me

My house is warm my belly is full

Inside my heart I know what to do

New Year coming I can’t turn away

From this stranger who has come my way

How can I be of service to you

He said friend I hate to bother you

Times are hard and I worked all day

For a few dollars for a one night stay

Got nothing left to get me some food

It hurts my pride to ask this from you

Haven’t worked myself for 44 days

I got some left from the money I saved

Let’s both start this New Year right

I thank you for the gift that you gave me tonight

Money’s just something that we spend

But a good friend we can keep till the end

Shape of Blues To Come

Soon as she said I'll love you forever

A chill went up my spine

I been thru forever before

Same thing happens everytime

Blue skies turn to a nasty downpour

Love gets dragged through the mud once more

I'm Over my head

My hearts pounding just like drum

I got a real bad feeling ' bout

The Shape of Blues to Come

Soon as she said prove that you love me

My mouth got dry

I've been down to the proving ground

Least about a hundred times

If the wind ain’t right A man can fall short

Find his self naked up in front of the court

I'm in too deep I know I'm gonna suffer some

I got a real bad feeling ' bout

The Shape of Blues to Come

She'll have me callin

Her name in the dark

That is a pretty safe bet

A love like hers bound to take its toll

haven't seen the worst of it yet

After my heart meets the guillotine

She'll mortgage my soul and slap on a lien

I' m too far gone

I know I'm gonna wake up numb

I got a real bad feeling ' bout

The Shape of Blues to Come

Preacher

The Preacher man come around, preacher come around

The Preacher man come around with a bottle in his hand

A bottle in his hand

Mr. Rudy won’t you help me won’t you help me please

Mr. Rudy won’t you help and I got down on my knees

I got down on my knees

The blues done signed my name blues done signed my name

Blues done signed my name and I’ll never be the same

I will never be the same

So I’m headed down Pactolis Highway outskirts of town

Headed down Pactolis highway where the womens can be found

Where the women’s can be found

Why do they call you preacher son do they call you son

Why do they call you preacher son because I arare one

Because I are one

So the preacher man come around preacher come around

The preacher man would come around with a bottle in his hand

Not a bible in his hand

A bottle in his hand

A bottle in his hand

Angels Are Back

Written by Timothy Langford

Angels are back angels are back

Angels are back, back at my door

Angels are whispering, they whisper in my ear

Time to come home they don’t need you round here

It will be all right don’t you be afraid

Love will surround you, they don’t need you round here

Your body is failing, failing you now

Your soul will live, don’t you worry now

Leave this world now, let it slip away

You’ll see them all again, let it slip

Stoned Again

Written by Timothy Langford

The devil drinks his whiskey and Jesus drinks his wine
One is a sinner the other is divine
Now tell me what’s the difference when both of them are getting high

Mom and dad are smoking and now the kids are too
If we make it a crime, then who’s hurting who
There’s money on the streets but the jailhouse wants some too
Is it really, a crime or a sin if you want to get stoned again
You mind your business I’ll mind mine, and Jesus and the Devil can fight about who’s wrong and who’s right

The devil drinks his whiskey and Jesus drinks his wine
One is a sinner the other is divine
Now tell me what’s the difference when both of them are getting high

Stoned again

Daddies Bones

Written by Timothy Langford

Leland’s out on bail, but he’s on the run

And people say he’s asking for Sonny to get him some guns

Leland signed over the farm, to make his bail

Now the family‘s got word through the swamp press, that Leland’s in catfish grave

Chorus

If you find daddies bones, could you please send them home

Maybe we can save the farm, if we can prove he’s gone

I can see a bad moon rising said Leland’s son

Cause’ daddies been missing since Sonny delivered those guns

Leland’s lived his life on the wrong side of the Law

But  rumors are spreadin’, he made a deal, with Sheriff McGraw

The powers that be don’t take kindly to a snitch

Now Leland is a floater in the swamp south of Deadmans ridge

Chorus

Can't Dress It Up

Written by Timothy Langford

Why are you trying so hard to be what your not, why can’t you just try to live in your own skin

The ones who don’t want you, will never let you in, they get a kick out of watching you sweat

Chorus:

Well you can put on a shine, do your best to refine, ain’t no use ‘cause you can’t dress it uWhen reality takes over, after your makeover, your going see that you can’t dress it up

Bridge:

A new coat of paint ain’t enough to cover up all your rust

A spit polish just ain’t the same as a wax and a buff, can’t dress it up

Solo

Repeat Verse 1

Chorus:

Well you can put on a shine do your best to refine ain’t no use ‘cause you can’t dress it up

When reality takes over after your makeover your gonna see that you can’t dress it up

You can put on a wig, buy a new rig, ain’t no use cause you can’t dress it up

You can try to kiss ass, but if it ain’t your class, your gonna see that you can’t dress it up

In Your Corner

Written by Timothy Langford

When this mean ole world starts dragging you down, and your feeling like a loser and your just about to throw in the towel

When your thinking that your all alone, and you just can’t cope and you can’t get your keep off the ground

Well, just lay on the ropes and cover it up, and try to make it to the next round

Chorus:

You got me in your corner,  watchin’ your back

You got me in your corner , watchin’ your back

Keep on movin , keep your guard up , cause life’s gonna take a shot, and try to knock you out

You might take hit , you might get hurt, but just pace yourself, don’t let them wear you down

Just lay on the ropes, cover it up , and try to make it to the next round

Chorus:

When this mean ole world starts dragging you down, and your feeling like a loser and your just about to throw in the towel

When your thinking that your all alone, and you just can’t cope and you can’t get your keep off the ground

Well, just lay on the ropes and cover it up, and try to make it to the next round

Everybody's Got Something

Written by Timothy Langford

Everybody’s got something, everybody’s got a thing

We’re all a little different, a little bit the same

We all want love, we don’t need hate

Just a little bit of hope and a little bit of faith

We all like good times , cause we’ve all had it bad

We want to believe, people don’t lie

If I had my way, everybody would be happy

I could say from my heart , everything’s going to be alright

Chorus

Everybody’s got something  somebody needs

Everybody’s got something that makes em’ feel free

Everybody’s got something  they all got to have

Everybody’s got some thing to give

We all want to be sexy, we wanna be cool

Nobody, wants to play the fool

Some want money, and some  want fame

Some just want, to stay in the game

We’ve all had  friends, and enemies

We’ve  all have dreams, nobody sees

If I had my way, everybody would be happy

I could say from my heart,  everything’s going to be alright

Chorus

She Sees Ghosts

Written by Timothy Langford

She see things that nobody sees , stares into space, what could it be

She chases things that go bump in the night, every time we turn out the lights

She’s got a 6th sense I wish it was me, so I could see what is haunting me

Chorus:

She sees ghosts, my dog sees ghosts

You probably think it’s a joke, my dog sees ghosts

A restless soul with no place to go, my house is your home, but I wish you would go

If I could see you who would you be, are you a member of the family

Chorus:

Solo

Pop’s in the box do you think it’s him, maybe he just wants to jam with Slim

The dog knows but she won’t give it up, I sure wish that dog could talk

If I could see you who would you be are you a member of the family

Chorus

She is all that I need, she, is everything to me

She’s my lover, she’s my friend, she’s the passion in my head

She’s my obsession, my addiction, she’s the cure for my afflictions

She has my affection when she walks in the room.

As the Tears Go By

Written by Timothy Langford

Hard times never seem to end

Trouble’s always waitin’ around the bend

Chorus

Well the hard times make you smarter Pain just makes your heart harder

And I see your heart turn to stone

As the tears go by

Life is simple, when there ain’t no lies

How can you stand to see your momma cry

Chorus

Well the hard times make you smarter

Pain just makes your heart harder

And I see your heart turn to stone

As the tears go by

Bridge

Well it ain’t to late, to turn things around

Love is waiting for you with open arms

Repeat Verse 1

Chorus

Shiver

Written by Timothy Langford

Don’t want to think about some things I’ve done

Bones in the closet make me want to run

Can’t blame the Devil for all my sins

I sure wish I could forget some things

It could have been different , I had a choice

Want to blame somebody for all this noise

Word salad, brain gumbo, spodiodi heart

Bad decisions have left their scars

Chorus

Confessin’ don’t help, it’s with me forever

It haunts me still, I’m doomed to remember

It makes me shiver

Young minds don’t always think things through

Inside my head I got some lessons for you

My lights have dimmed so you may not see

All the demons that are still with me

Repeat 2

It could have been different , I had a choice

Wanna blame somebody for all this noise

Word salad, brain gumbo, spodiodi heart

Bad decisions have left their scars

Chorus

Mississippi Moon

Written by Timothy Langford

Well I had a dream and I woke up in a cold cold, sweat and I could see my life passing by me like a scene from a movie set

And my blood ran cold, and I just can’t forget, that dream and the cold cold feeling  that it left me with

There was hellhounds runnin’, hot after my tail, on a moonlit night on the swamp with the snakes and the alligators.

Chorus

I hear the hellhounds howlin’ at the Mississippi moon, I never had such a feelin’ of doom, hear the hellhounds howlin’ at the Mississippi moon.

Well I dreamed I was runnin’, I stopped to catch my breath, and I could feel those demons behind me, breathin’ down my neck

Then I turned around, and a chill ran thru my spine, and the devil looked me straight in the eye and said I’m gonna get you yet.

Repeat chorus

Then I saw a light, and I felt real calm, and I could hear God tellin’ Satan you leave that boy alone

Because I got my own plan, and I need this Man, so get back from whence you came before I cut you down

That’s when I woke up and I felt so glad, that I had what I had and it was only a dream and I could live in a land where a man could be free.
